One Piece Episode 1116: Let’s Go Get It! Buggy’s Big Declaration is a wonderful and hilarious episode starring a couple of characters making their long-awaited return.

More importantly, though, Buggy has been somewhat of a fan favorite because of his funny stand-in.

This time, he seems to have outdone himself with the kind of ridiculous predicaments he finds himself in, but this time he is gaining in ranks within the Cross Guild.

The Cross Guild was a guild started by Buggy, who was the least powerful in the group but managed to accidentally make himself important when he gave an inspiring speech to his followers.

The humor lies in the mix of fear and luck that surrounds Buggy, eventually making him quite influential.

It’s funny enough with the animation to emphasize Buggy’s over-the-top behavior, Mihawk and Crocodile both mocking him throughout the speech.

Though most of this comes out of Buggy’s actual interaction with Mihawk and Crocodile, who treat him as a joke, his knack for success despite himself adds an interesting layer to the Cross Guild.

Mihawk’s calmness stands out against the frantic nature of Buggy, and Crocodile’s serious attitude keeps the place in check.

Buggy One Piece

It gives a sliver of insight into the internal tensions within the gang while still being somewhat lighthearted.

While this episode isn’t as action-packed, it does quite a bit of setting up with crossing over the future storylines, which concerns the potential for the Cross Guild to wreak havoc.

The pacing allows for a closer look at the character of Buggy, and this humor provides some nice relief from the more intense episodes that went on before.

Generally, this episode balances world-building with humor, giving the fans laughs but also a view on how Buggy and the Cross Guild are growing.
